State of City Address Highlights Priorities for 2015 This year will be a year of action for the City of Durham. That was Mayor William V. “Bill” Bell’s overall message during his State of the City address delivered on February 19. During his remarks, Mayor Bell touched on achievements and challenges from the past year as well as what the City will be focusing on in the year to come.
City Accepting Jr. Fire Marshal Program Applications Applications are now being accepted for the City’s Jr. Fire Marshal Program. The program is free and will be offered to students ages 11-15 for four days over spring break. Durham Fire Department Public Education Coordinator Sierra McKoy explains what participants will do as part of the program.
Registration for DPR Summer Day Camps Opens March 16 Registration for Durham Parks and Recreation (DPR) Summer Day Camps will open March 16. The City offers a variety of camps from June 15 - August 14 for both youth and teens. Online registration will be available and onsite registration can also be completed at any DPR facility.
